The Cantor's Son is the simple story of a Hebrew youth who leaves his Polish village and joins a traveling group of actors. He travels to the United States where he endures many disappointments before becoming a success. The young man never forgets his homeland, eventually returning to his sweetheart and parents in the old country. The Cantor's Son was the most expensive Yiddish production of the era. Star Moyshe Oysher was considered the greatest cantor of his time and was one of the most popular personalities of the Yiddish cinema.
