DESCRIPTION

Two American soldiers are AWOL and on the run from the MP's in 1918. When one of the doughboys falls in love with the daughter of a philandering colonel, the real lunacy begins. Bert Wheeler is the short guy with curly-hair; Robert Woolsey is the skinny guy with glasses. Having come from the stage, both know how to give a gag its full worth. Wheeler and Woolsey were fortunate in that they always get great musical numbers in their films - their songs and dances are always a highlight. This movie is no exception. Besides the Wheeler & Lee duet (`Whistling the Blues Away'), Woolsey gets to spoof Nijinsky (`Nothing But Love'), while dancing in his underwear. Bizarre, but effective.
