A couple of classic '50s TV adventure series with a Cold War theme.
- Terry and the Pirates John Baer is Terry and Gloria Saunders the Dragon Lady in this television version of Milton Caniff's comic strip. Jack Reitz, William Tracy, and Sandra Spence co-star as Chopstick, Hot Shot Charlie, and Burma respectively. The show had been a comic strip in the 1930s. In the TV series Terry and Hotshot Charlie are pilots working for an evil Chinaman named Chopstick, whom they often have to blackmail to get their pay. Dragon Lady, a very attractive villianess, is attracted to Terry and is always trying to seduce him, which makes his gal pal, Burma, very very jealous. Because of, and also in spite of, the many stereotypes, this series is a pleasure to watch. Syndicated in 1952 with 26 episodes.Biff Baker USA "Flight to Geneva" Directed by Richard Irving. Starring Alan Hale, Jr. and Randy Stuart as a husband-wife spy team who travel about the world posing as importers. Guest stars this episode are Darryl Hickman, Charles Evans, Connie Marshall, Hans Schumm, Paul Langton, Gail Bonney, Ivan Triesault, Marjorie Bennett. Biff is kidnapped when mistaken as a Professor with U.S. secrets wanted by Eurpoean spies. This series first aired on CBS from Novenber 6, 1952 to March 26, 1953.
